March 26, 2011 all trout waters will be open in the state. Fannin county is was named Trout capital of Georgia in 2010. There are many opportunities for the avid and novice fisherman alike. Whether you are looking for a native speckled trout in the Cohutta Wilderness area or a trout rodeo for the kids, there are ample waters to provide both experiences. Make sure to check out the different trout waters for entirely different experiences and scenery. Looking for a wall hanger Try out the lower Toccoa for some massive browns and rainbows. A few smaller but very good streams are Coopers Creek, Rock Creek, Fightingtown Creek, Hemptown Creek, Hothouse Creek, Jacks River, and several other good spots. If you are wanting to do a float trip, I would recommend the upper Toccoa for the natural beauty of the area through the National Forest. There are many cabin options available as well. If I can help in any way, do not hesitate to let me know.
